56th Season Opener and Schedule Announced for Lebanon Valley Speedway

West Lebanon, NY:  Howard Commander’s legendary high banks have announced the release of their 2008 Schedule of events.  This is in conjunction with the release of some “pre-season” previews of your local racing cars and stars.

Saturday April 19th has been stamped as the lid lifter for the 56th time at the Valley of Speed.  With plenty on action on hand, including a special $3,000.00 to Win Modified Shootout, plus the season openers for the Pro Stocks, Limited Pros and Pure Stocks.  Also on tap for opening night will feature a 4 cylinder dash along with Sportsman Division Warm-Ups.

But before the gates open, there will be plenty of opportunity to get your “racing fix”.  First on the list is the 2008 Speedway Expo coming this Friday on the grounds of the Big E in Springfield, MA.  For more information on the February 29th through March 2nd Expo; including vendors, programs, directions, and of course cars and teams, visit there website at SpeedwayExpo.com.  Be sure to stop by the Lebanon Valley Speedway Zone that will feature your 2007 Modified and 358 Series Champ J.R. Heffner’s Dirt Modified!

Following the Expo, drivers and teams will make the annual pilgrimage to Latham for the Rolling Thunder Car Show March 8th and March 9th at the Latham Circle Mall.  Come see your favorite drivers and see their new cars for the 2008 racing season.  Also be sure to stop by the Lebanon Valley Zone and get your official 2008 Schedules!

Then, to cap off the pre-season teasers, Lebanon Valley Clubhouse will once again play host to the official crowning and celebration of the 2007 Point Champions set for March 28th and March 29th.  Scheduled for Friday March 28th is the celebration for 2007 Pro Stock Champion Kevin Arnold, 2007 Limited Pro Champ Nick Hilt, and the 2007 Pure Stock Champion Matt Humes.

Then the legendary LVS Clubhouse does it all over again on Saturday March 29th, this time crowning the 2007 Big Block Modified and 358 Modified Champion J.R. Heffner and the 2007 Sportsman Champion Jeff Watson.

At the conclusion of those festivities, the doors close for 2 weeks to prepare for the 2008 Season Opener on Saturday April 19th, with a warm-up scheduled for April 12th to blow the dust off before the season opener.
